AEO consulting - experts advised
Since January 2008, any economic operator of a EU member state can be granted the AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) status, when he meets the following common criteria: customs compliance, appropriate record-keeping, financial solvency and, where relevant, security and safety standards.
AEO certificate offers different advantages in international trade. Customs grants various facilities for physical customs inspections to enterprises with the AEO status.
There are different kinds of AEO certificates, e.g the Customs simplification Certificate, the Security and safety Certificate (AEO-S) or a combined Customs simplification and Security and safety certificate (AEO-F).
The degree to which an enterprise is granted facilities for the inspection depends on the type of certificate and the role an enterprise fulfils within the logistic chain.
