EMCS - a 'must' for excisable goods
EMCS (Excise Movement and Control System) is the new EU-wide computerized system for monitoring the movement of excise goods, which are under suspension of excise duty within the European Union. As of January 1, 2011 EMCS will replace the paper-based procedure AAD (Accompanying Administration Document) for all new excise movements of those goods under duty suspension. In future all such movements must be initiated using EMCS e-AD (electronic Administrative Document).
