Bremer Hafentelematik (BHT) - Your central information system
The Bremer Hafentelematik (BHT) serves as the central information system for all those involved in the port management in Bremen und Bremerhaven. It links various EDP systems of the transport industry, railways and governmental authorities in order to guarantee perfect communication at the Bremen ports, regardless of which hardware and software is used.
Every shipment that leaves the ports is electronically recorded by BHT. The system, developed and operated by dbh Logistics IT AG, is among the leaders worldwide with respect to its scope and use. Today, numerous international delegations visit the Hanseatic city in order to obtain ideas and suggestions for their own port information systems.
The BHT advance loading information allows greater scheduling flexibility and more rational operational processes which, above all, promotes rapid cargo handling. With BHT it is now possible to interact with other applications with regard to reporting loading details to cargo handling operations, declaring hazardous goods and clearing customs, for example.
In the meantime, the advantages of the system are also used in the neighbouring state of Lower Saxony. The customs office of Cuxhaven already carries out export control via BHT and all the seaports of Lower Saxony have access to the hazardous good reports in the system.
A special feature of BHT is that it can be used via the Internet. Thus, even small companies can benefit from the system in a cost-effective manner without having to invest in expensive hardware or software. The programmes then run in the data centre of dbh and are operated via a standard Internet browser.
