ADVANTAGE NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW

Advantage National Single Window (ANSW) is a software product from dbh Logistics IT AG, which is used to carry out reporting formalities for ship arrivals in accordance with EU Directive 2010/65, which came into effect on 1 June 2015. The requirements of EU Directive 2010/65 were transposed into national law in Germany through a revision to the Internal Waters (Entering Requirements) Ordinance. The Internal Waters (Entering Requirements) Ordinance forms the basis for the obligation of ship operators to report required information electronically to the Waterways and Shipping Administration of the Federal Government in Koblenz using the Federal Republic of Germany's National Single Window core system. This involves communication between the parties involved in reporting the arrival/departure of ships and the relevant authorities. Communication with other commercial enterprises is not included in the scope of this process.

HOW DOES NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW WORK?

Those under the obligation to report seagoing ships arriving at or leaving ports, submit the data, such as ship notification (port authority), the crew list (Federal Police) or the declaration of hazardous goods (port authority), to ANSW. A wide range of options are available for this purpose. This information is communicated to the NSW core system. The National Single Window ensures that all recipients, such as the Federal Police, the port authorities and maritime safety and security authorities, receive the information that they need. In order to ensure that this happens, the authorities are provided with access to the information they require via individual interfaces or via a commissioned Port Information System (PIS).
