BREMER HAFENTELEMATIK

Bremer Hafentelematik is the central information system for all parties involved in port management in Bremen and Bremerhaven. The system networks various EDP systems from the transport industry, the railway industry and authorities, in order to enable seamless communication in the ports of Bremen, regardless of the hardware and software that is used.  

40 YEARS' EXPERIENCE, ESTABLISHED SOFTWARE

The first port information system in the world was put into operation in 1973, with the Ports of Bremen database. This system was developed by dbh. Today, the system is known as Bremer Hafentelematik ( BHT), but it is still operated by our company. Since the mid 1980s, Bremer Hafentelematik has been used in the ports of Bremen and Bremerhaven to simplify and standardise port processes and provide information to those involved in transportation processes. The system has proven itself in the field and continues to be operated and further developed by our company to this day.

PIONEERING PORT IT

Bremer Hafentelematik is one of the world's leading systems for efficient port management. Lower Saxony has been convinced of the benefits offered by the system for many years: the customs office at Cuxhaven uses Bremer Hafentelematik for its export control processes. In addition, all of the sea ports in Lower Saxony use the functions for the declaration of hazardous goods. 

The pioneering nature of the software means that it is viewed as a role model on an international scale. The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen is visited time and time again by international delegations looking for ideas for their own port information systems.

MORE EFFICIENT TRANSSHIPMENT OF GOODS THANKS TO NETWORKED IT

Each shipment that leaves the port is captured electronically. By providing advance loading information, Bremer Hafentelematik provides more scheduling flexibility and enables more efficient operational processes. The benefits offered by this increased flexibility and efficiency are particularly evident in the field of cargo handling. Interfaces to other specialist applications enable the reporting of cargo to transshipment companies, declarations of hazardous goods and management of customs processes, for example.
