Lufthansa Cargo introduces fee for paper bills of lading

20. Mar 2018 | Forwarding software, Transport management

Lufthansa Cargo plans to charge a new fee from 2 April 2018. The new “Paper AWB Fee” will be charged if the AWB is not transmitted exclusively electronically. This was reported by both the DVZ (link for subscribers) and other media in the last week. In an introductory phase, 1 EUR per shipment. From 1 October, the regular amount of EUR 12 per shipment will be due.

It is not yet known whether other airlines will follow the example of Lufthansa Cargo.

Using eAWB with CARGO ONLINE

Customers and users of CARGO ONLINE can be reassured: The Traxon module of the dbh forwarding software already enables the easy transmission of e-AWBs directly from the application. Of course, not only for Lufthansa Cargo, but also for all other airlines that support the electronic air waybill.
