ATLAS shipping and ATLAS export – Why modern customs software helps

Starting from 01.09.2026, the customs administration will introduce the new interface between ATLAS Dispatch and ATLAS Export. This will make data reconciliation between dispatch and export notifications a mandatory part of customs processing. Companies should review their processes early to avoid data discrepancies and ensure smooth operation of their customs procedures.

With the commissioning of the interface, the customs administration will implement the changes already announced in the ATLAS Participant Information 0611/2024, 0693/2024 and 0767/2025.

In the future, when dispatching forwarding, a system-side reconciliation will take place between the dispatch notification and the underlying export notification. ATLAS will particularly check the following information for consistency:

• Commodity code
• Net weight
• Destination country
• Type of dispatch notification
• Status of goods
• Procedure code of the export transaction

The goal is higher data quality and consistent processing of customs procedures within the ATLAS system.

If information in dispatch and export notifications diverges, error messages or rejections from ATLAS checks may occur in the future.

For companies, this means:

This enables the relevant information from the export notification to be retrieved and used for the dispatch notification. This way, inconsistencies can be avoided before transmission to ATLAS.

The function enables automatic transfer of relevant data from the export notification to the dispatch notification. This ensures that the information required for ATLAS reconciliation is transferred consistently.

An exception applies to export transactions in air transport and road feeder service (RFS).

In these cases, the code T0002 must be entered in the dispatch notification in the “Additional Information” field.

The code stands for special procedures in preceding export transactions in air freight or air freight replacement traffic.
