On Monday, June 22, 2026, a fire broke out at the Bremen dbh location as a result of roof work on the building. Thanks to a smooth evacuation and the rapid arrival of the fire department, no one was injured.
The building houses a data center specially secured against fire for the software applications of dbh customers. Thanks to the various structural protective measures, it was not damaged. Immediately after the fire broke out, dbh activated a secondary data center at a different location. The switchover was completed successfully. These measures prevented major outages and maintained high service quality. There were isolated disruptions, which our experts were able to resolve quickly.
The greatest impact of the fire currently is that dbh’s offices are no longer usable until further notice. Maren Obermaier, CFO of dbh Logstics IT AG, on the current situation: “As a software company, we are also digitally equipped in our working practices, so a large part of our team can work from home without any problems. This allows our business operations to continue without restrictions.” Additionally, according to Obermaier, a small temporary office was set up to ensure necessary on-site work.
The enormous importance of careful crisis prevention was evident in the fire over the past few days. The emergency plans worked and all involved parties worked in a practiced and highly professional manner. “We extend our special thanks to the decisive action of all emergency responders. In particular also to the volunteer fire departments from Bremen and Lower Saxony,” said Maren Obermaier. “We are very grateful to all involved for their committed efforts and our partners for their support. And we are proud of the commitment and teamwork of our employees, who kept their composure in this extraordinary situation, acted prudently, and took responsibility.”
